Here are a couple of early, unused concepts from when I first started working on Orcs Must Die, almost 2 years ago.These were concepts for a slow-moving, fire elemental, and a quick, undead-themed runner mob. Thanks for looking!

Orcs Must Die!

Today I realized that I haven't posted anything about Orcs Must Die!, one of the many games I've worked on at Robot Entertainment.  This is a gallery image I did for the Orcs Must Die promo comic we put out. It's a trap!

I recently had the super cool opportunity to work on a few Star Wars cards for the upcoming card game by Fantasy Flight Games (you can see a preview here featuring the Admiral himself!). Being asked to illustrate some well known characters from one of my favorite IPs was awesome, but having to watch the 'ITS A TRAP' scene repeatedly can wear on you a little.

Treeman Ancient

Here's a recent Warhammer card that I did for the upcoming Morrslieb Cycle. I guess the folks over at Fantasy Flight Games were pretty pleased with it, as it was used as a booster pack cover as well! This piece is one of my recent favorites, hope you guys dig it!

Broken Bot

Broken down bot done for the Robot Entertainment art blog over here. (Check out the link if you want to see a bigger writeup on this image). I imagined a mech pilot to be marooned on this planet long enough to fashion a life support unit from his own robot. Other people have come up with their own interpretations though which are always interesting to hear :)

Skinks of Sotek

Lizardmen have always been one of my favorite Warhammer Fantasy races, so this piece was especially nostalgic and fun for me. I recently found a website with a Warhammer card database, it makes me want to learn how to play to see if my cards are actually good ;)

DungeonQuest: Dead Adventurer

I did several cards for DungeonQuest by Fantasy Flight Games, one of them being the Dead Adventurer. I think this piece is when I discovered how much I like to paint rusty metal and scale mail.

CthulhuTech

Here are some character designs I did for CthulhuTech about a year ago that are finally getting released. The monsters are actually a sort of organic mech body armor called a Tager. It was a fun challenge trying to make it seem like a human could fit inside them. These are the upgraded versions of some Tagers that the very talented Trevor Claxton designed. Needless to say, it was a tough act to follow, but very fun.

DnD: Dark Sun Illustrations

These were 3 illustrations I did for the recently released Dark Sun: Creature Catalog, published by Wizards of the Coast. I just got my copy in the mail, and there's a ton of great art in it. The Dark Sun universe is great, it was definitely one of my favorite projects ever! Go pick up your copy at Barnes and Noble or wherever fine creature compendiums are sold.

Nightgaunt

The Nightgaunt is another one of the creatures I did for the Talisman: Highland expansion for Fantasy Flight Games. I just got sent my copy of the game, it looks great! It's a really cool feeling seeing your stuff in print, it was neat seeing how the images tighten up.

Cloud Dragon

L5R Undead Chuda

It's nice that some of my NDAs are lifting and I can finally post some of the art I've been doing. Here is an evil Japanese Liche done for the Plague Wars cycle of Legend of Five Rings cards.

Windlasher

The Windlasher is another monster card I did for Talisman: Highlands. He's a giant evil vulture who can create powerful storms with his wings. Not really something you want to run into when you're hanging off the edge of a cliff.

Talisman: The Highland -Mountain Dragon

Just saw this image in the Talisman rulebook the other day, so I figured I could release it. This is one of a few creatures I did for the Talisman: Highland expansion for Fantasy Flight Games (check it out here ). They pretty much gave me free rein on the design, which ended up being a ton of fun. Hopefully I'll be able to post the other monsters soon. Until then, enjoy-

The Last Unicorn

I went ahead and finished up this piece for the Robot Entertainment art blog located here. The theme this time around was 'Fantasy' which was right up my alley. I felt like just having a tiny figure in the image was too cliche or something...so I ended up with a symbol of purity and good about to get eaten. Enjoy-

Lindworm WIP

Saw How to Train Your Dragon last weekend (great flick btw) and got pretty inspired. It's easy to forget how fun it is to just sit back and render the hell out of a goofy looking dragon. I'm still not sure where I want this piece to go or what it will look like painted up though.

It's that time of year when all the games I've worked on start to get released! Here's a character portrait of Boba Fett I did when I first got to n-Space, done for Stars Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron. This was one of those assignments that you never think you'll get to do...it's weird when you sit down to work and your assignment is to paint a badass space bounty hunter from your favorite movies.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 DS

Woo! So MUA2 DS is out now, and I got the go-ahead to post some images. I got to paint Gargan Venom, Green Goblin, and She-Hulk portraits, along with a lot of other characters. Goblins, shark-lookin' bad guys, and green chicks. Good stuff.

Dragons and websites

My entry for the Earthquake Dragon challenge at www.artorder.blogspot.com . I've already seen some entries popping up and it looks like there's going to be some stiff competition (Fantasy artists like drawing dragons? Who knew?) Mad props to my buddy McLean for some last minute crits on this guy.

In other news, everyone should check out my awesome new website designed by my lovely girlfriend Erin . Lots of new work, clean design, stripes, monsters, the color brown, these are a few of my favorite things. Ye Olde Vampyres

Some b/w work vampyrez for http://www.artorder.blogspot.com/ 's weekly challenge. Haven't done any non-grayscale black and white stuff in a while, kinda tricky to get the hang of again. I've been using some thin horizontal lines to try and get that old printed quality in it. An interesting experiment, but I'm not sure how successful the results are.

Boll Deevil

Done for an art challenge over at ArtOrder . You had to base a creature off of a Boll Weevil, so this fella turned into some lava spewing cave bug. Definitely a fun little project
